All six Kickstarter campaigns on our list this week were launched on January 27 and smashed their goals in no time. Some campaigns reached their goal in a few hours, and all of them quickly exceeded their goal by the next day. With still over a month to go, most of these projects have exciting stretch goals planned and are offering great rewards to backers. Number 1 is my favorite!
Check out our last Kickstarter roundup here.
1. Glow: The First Smart Headphones with Laser Light
Creators: Glow, LLC

Average Pledge per Backer: $205
Duration: January 27 2015 – March 13 2015 (45 days)
This Kickstarter Staff Pick is revolutionizing headphones by using laser illuminated cables. Glow headphones come in three different colors: red, green, and blue. These unique laser lights can even pulse to the sound of your music or your heart rate! Other things have also been included to make these headphones high-quality.
Glow was designed to have great sound, and be comfortable to wear for long periods (or during a nap!), and also has a five-way remote that allows you to control your phone when using the headphones.
2. Prynt: the first instant camera case for iPhone and Android
Creators: Prynt
Amount Funded: $248K+
Number of Backers: 2,001+
Average Pledge per Backer: $124
Duration: January 27 2015 – March 3 2015 (35 days)
This project has a very successful first day, raising over $200K on Kickstarter. Prynt is a smartphone case that allows you to print pictures instantly and share them with others. Reminiscent of Polaroid cameras, Prynt includes modern features that make it an exciting new tool.
All you have to do is plug in your smartphone (it doesn’t use Wi-Fi or Bluetooth) and you can print any photo already on your camera or take new ones! One really cool feature is that you can upload a video, print a picture, and watch the video later on by scanning the picture with their augmented reality app.
3. Wishbone: The World’s Smallest Smart Thermometer
Creators: Joywing Tech
Amount Funded: $42K+
Number of Backers: 1,073+
Average Pledge per Backer: $40
Duration: January 27 2015 – February 26 2015 (30 days)
Wishbone is a non-contact thermometer that allows you to take your child’s temperature in under 2 seconds, and is our second Kickstarter Staff Pick this week. This device is compatible with iPhone and Android. Other things Wishbone can be used for are to check the temperature outside, of a bottle of milk, or your own temperature.
The app is also capable of tracking your family’s health data over time. In two days this team has more than doubled their goal, and are looking to the Kickstarter community for help creating a product that solves a common problem – getting an accurate reading of a child’s temperature when they are sick.
4. Theomachy

Amount Funded: $33K+
Number of Backers: 323+
Average Pledge per Backer: $101
Duration: January 27 2015 – March 2 2015 (34 days)
Theomachy is a Kickstarter project in the Tabletop Games category. Described as a “mythic deck-building strategy game” for 2-4 players that takes less than 45 minutes, Theomachy allows players to play as a God and fight for power. This Kickstarter is releasing the game in two versions: The Warrior Gods and The Ancients.
This game has been successful in Polish and German, and Historical Games Factory has teamed up with Sandy Petersen for this English translation. Sandy has launched 6 previous Kickstarter campaigns, including the popular game, Cthulhu Wars.
5. Deadlands: Stone and a Hard Place

Amount Funded: $20K+
Number of Backers: 335+
Average Pledge per Backer: $60

Deadlands is a roleplaying game that mixes Western and horror genres. This new plot point campaign for Deadlands Reloaded comes before the original game’s 20th anniversary in 2016. Not only is it a plot point campaign, but also “a sourcebook on the Southwest, new rules for the Harrowed, and a look at the Weird West’s most deadly hero killer!”
This campaign offers rewards for old fans and new ones, allowing players who have just been introduced to the game to get bundles with things they’ve missed before.
6. Heroes Wanted: The Stuff of Legend
Creators: Action Phase Games
Amount Funded: $49K+
Number of Backers: 719+
Average Pledge per Backer: $68
Duration: January 27 2015 – March 2 2015 (34 days)
Heroes Wanted is the second project in a tactical board game series. The first Kickstarter raised over $137K in March 2014. According to their campaign page, “The Stuff of Legend expands the Heroes Wanted universe as Supernatural and Mythic heroes join the fray, while mechanics such as feats and curses introduce all-new tactics and the price for using them. All that along with even more Heroes, Villains, Quirks, and two new scenarios will add even more variety and complexity to your Heroes Wanted experience.”
This Tabletop Game campaign reached its $20K goal on Kickstarter in only 2 hours!
Conclusion
All of these creators have done a great job promoting their campaigns, some having support from backers that pledged to previous projects. From tabletop game projects to product design, these lists show that Kickstarter has something to offer for everyone.
