It’s hard to imagine when you first see him that this young man raised $18,200 with his father for the Ronald McDonald House of Rochester NY, but Kyle Stein did just that, with only $1,629.00 coming from offline funds.
For those who don’t know, the McDonald House Charities design and support programs that improve the health of sick children. At the time of writing over 4.5 million families are helped each year. There are 322 Houses in 57 countries and regions. In addition to providing McDonald Houses that house families of hospitalized children, this charity provides family rooms that accomodate families in the local community, care mobiles that exist as mobile clinics, and learning programs that help sick children who have fallen behind in school catch up with their peers.
“For my Mitzvah Project, my dad and I spent 2 days in Rochester, NY where we volunteered at the Golisano Children’s Hospital and Ronald McDonald House,” writes Kyle. “We helped wrap holiday presents for sick children to lessen the burden on their families and make the holidays a little bit brighter.”
The Golisano Children’s Hospital is one of the best children’s hospitals for Oncology, Cardio, Neonatology , Orthopedic Trauma, and Neurology treatments.
“I want to continue helping these two phenomenal charities so that I may present them with a large donation.”
At the time of writing, this Crowdrise project has raised $18,200 or 73% of its $25,000 Goal. With 103 donations, the average donation for this project is $176.70. Judging from the event date, this fundraising campaign will end on Aril 06, 2013.
