Let’s talk a bit about the different ways that companies in this industry can help with your actual crowdfunding campaign.
1. Coaching
If it’s your first time launching a crowdfunding campaign, it can be extremely daunting!
You gotta figure out how to market this thing, set up the page, and go through the entire launch yourself.
This is exactly why I offer coaching services to students who want to bring someone on their team with experience.
Not only do I go through the process with you, but I also hold your hand every step of the way!
So much of success is surrounding yourself with the right people. This is one of the easiest ways to do it.
2. Marketing and promotion
There are companies that will help you once you go live on Kickstarter or Indiegogo with marketing and promotion. They’ll help you get the word out.
Whether it’s email, Facebook ads, PR, or social media, these companies can bring more attention to your page and help boost your funding meter.
I talk about a few of the top ones here. You can also discover even more in the video that I put together for you.
Remember that the goal of all marketing is to turn visitors into buyers. Without a sound marketing strategy, you don’t stand a chance of competing with some of the other glossy projects out there.
3. Crowd building
Crowd building is another component of all successful campaigns. You gotta have a crowd going into crowdfunding. Without one, it will be hard to rank well on the platform.
Companies out there can help you with things like lead generation, building up your following, and ultimately, having an explosive launch.
Every good crowd building strategy will also examine the various elements of your product. You need to get nitty gritty in terms of why people like it, what is going to make them want to support it, and the story behind it all.
By leaning on the experience of an established company, you’ll make it a lot easier to have the necessary critical mass before you take the project to a specific crowdfunding platform.
Which is best for you?
I talk a bit about this in the video, but it comes down to your strengths and weaknesses.
What are you good at? What do you suck at?
I know founders who are great at marketing, but suck at product development. They need help on the marketing an engineering side.
There are also entrepreneurs who are incredibly innovative, but struggle when it comes to generating interest for their product.
You have to have a certain degree of self-awareness in order to figure out which service provider is the best fit for you.
