If you’re running a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other platform, you must do direct outreach to your friends, family, and professional connections. Typically, these individuals will make up the first backers and the 30% that’s needed to bring social proof to the campaign.
However, it can be super annoying to LinkedIn message each professional connection you have. Instead, you can follow the steps below to export the email addresses of your LinkedIn contacts and add them to an email list or reach out to them directly.
Note: If you don’t want to go through these steps to find out how to get to webpage where you can export your contacts, click this link to be taken to the export page (must be signed in for it to work).
First, you will need to log into LinkedIn account.
After you’ve entered your name and email to sign into your LinkedIn account, you’ll need to click on the Connections tab in the main menu, as I’ve circled below.
You must then click the configure icon on the Connections page. I’ve circled the button in the screenshot below.
Once you’ve clicked the configure button, you will be taken to the page where you can import contacts from other sources like gmail, yahoo, outlook, and more. You will also have the option to export your contacts from this page. I’ve circled the link in the screenshot below that you need to click to be taken to the page where you can export your contacts.
Finally, you will be able to export the email addresses, names, current employer, and position of your LinkedIn contacts in CSV, Outlook Express, Mac OS X Address book, or vCard.
Conclusion
That’s it! You can now upload these emails to your designated email sender like MailChimp or Aweber, or email each of these contacts individually. Remember, if you don’t want to go through all these steps, you can just click this link once you are logged in to LinkedIn.
