If you want more content like this, then take a second to subscribe to this YouTube channel. It’s the first step towards educating yourself about crowdfunding.

Also, don’t forget to turn on notifications so that you get a message when I come out with new videos. Then, you don’t have to worry about staying up to date.

Let me ask you… why are you interested in Kickstarter?

Kickstarter Gets You Funding

The first and most obvious reason to be interested in Kickstarter is that it gets you funding! That’s what crowdfunding is all about.

You can then take that funding and do a lot with it. You could use it to fulfill the initial production run for a product. You could put it into marketing expenses. You could use it to improve your project.

I hate to say it, but money makes the world go round. You need money to be able to create something that is of value to other people.

All businesses are started with an injection of funding. Sometimes, that’s the form of self-funding from the entrepreneur himself. Other times, it’s from investors.

The cool thing about Kickstarter is that you’re actually getting funding from your customers. These are people who see your project and want it to exist in the world.

They decide to support you and claim different rewards, out of the hopes of one day being able to get the product on their door step and use it!

Kickstarter Gets You Validation

The second most important reason behind doing a Kickstarter campaign is that it gets you validation. What is validation?

By validation, I mean that you’re verifying that other people want to own this product that you’re making. Other people want to sample it, use it, and enjoy the benefits you promise.

This is so critically important because it means that you’re not wasting your time. You’re actually onto something. You’ve discovered a need in the marketplace.

Therefore, it will be worth it to go out there and invest more money in the next production round. It will be worth it to spend more time perfecting the product. It’s worth more of your attention.

Product validation can also be used to persuade investors that this is a worthwhile business that’s going to have good long-term prospects.

Kickstarter Gets You Attention

Next, Kickstarter gets you attention. This attention can take the form of backers, but it also can mean the larger media landscape. You can have bloggers, reporters, and influencers discuss your work.

Having a public Kickstarter campaign is also a great way to get the attention of retailers, partners, and others who want to work with you in some capacity.

People want to be near successful business owners and successful products. They want to be associated with them. They wanna do business with them.

You’ll gain a bit of a micro-celebrity effect when doing a crowdfunding campaign because people around the world can visibly see how much money you raised.

This gives you mountains of respect. Others will take your project much more seriously.

Where Should You Begin?

There are a lot of places that you can begin, like with the video that I put together for you today.

I have a book out there called the Kickstarter Launch Formula, along with a Udemy course by the same name, which you can find here.

I want to stress that the earlier you get started, the better it will be. You’ll be able to take advantage of more of the strategies I teach. However, even if you’re launching next week, I have a lot of good golden nuggets to share with you.

The most important thing is that you get started. Don’t put this off. If you want to use Kickstarter, then start learning about how it works. Start listening to podcasts, like Crowdfunding Demystified.

That’s the best chance you’ll have about smashing your fundraising goal on the website.
