The first week of September was a promising one for many crowdfunding campaigns, and those on Indiegogo are no exception.
These five instantly popular Indiegogo campaigns have caught backer’s interest and raised thousands in the first week (some in a matter of hours!). While some of these campaigns have reached their goals already, others are still working to spread the word and get fully funded.
There’s one big difference between these projects and those featured on our rapidly funded Kickstarter projects lists. Indiegogo’s flexible funding feature means that these projects will still go forward even if they don’t reach their full funding amount. Just keep in mind that the more funding these projects receive, the better the end result.
This list features several projects from the technology category, along with one design and one video/web campaign:
1. Kinsa Smart Ear Thermometer
Creators: Kinsa
Amount Funded: $83K+
Number of Backers: 1.5K+
The Kinsa Smart Ear Thermometer is a new wireless device that can easily take your child’s temperature in only one second!
In just five days this project has raised over $73K and passed its flexible funding goal of $50K. It’s now gone on to raise even more!
With the i0S and Android app, parents and caretakers can keep track of symptoms and medications, dosage times and even share all of this important information with each other. Kinsa launched their first product in 2013 and has introduced the first smartphone-enabled thermometer cleared by the FDA.
2. Luna: Bring the moon along with you
Creators: Luna Moon

3. WeCanDoIt
Creators: Taibah AlQatami
Amount Funded: $28K+
Number of Backers: N/A
Project #WeCanDoIt is an initiative that is helping to raise awareness on women’s empowerment in the Middle East by showcasing accomplished women.
In the first 6 days this project has raised $28K of their $35K flexible funding goal, which they plan to use for travel costs to film these women, video production, to pay for perks, develop a website, and more.
Last year this team launched project #Q8 to promote happiness in Kuwait as well as in the rest of the world. This video featured members of the team dancing to Pharrell Williams’ Happy.

Creators: LH Labs
Amount Funded: $23K+
Number of Backers: 73+
The team at LH Labs is looking to start “the (re) evolution of premium analog audio” with their new Pulse Analog Audio Components.
This project quickly raised its modest $5K flexible funding goal and has gone on to raise more than four times that goal in just three days since they launched.
One of LH Lab’s previous Indiegogo campaigns, Geek Pulse DAC, is In Demand on Indiegogo now and initially raised over $3M when the project ended in 2013. This current campaign is offering a centralized audio system to gives backers the best possible listening experience.
5. Kolud: Scheming with friends
Creators: Kolūd, Inc.
Amount Funded: $24K+
Number of Backers: 100+
Kolud is a new app that helps you quickly and easily “find things to do and people to do them with”.
With this app you can add your friends and also connect with new people. All you have to do is make a list of things you have been wanting to do, recommend these things to each other, or see what ideas you and your friends have in common.
In the first three days, this project attracted over $20K in funding – about a third of the team’s $60K flexible funding goal.
Conclusion
Indiegogo is a great rewards crowdfunding platform that allows for more flexibility and diversity than Kickstarter’s model, which focuses on creative projects. The platform has also been working hard when it comes to testing and launching new features, including In Demand, Indiegogo Life, Shipping Now and more.
All of these campaigns are kicking-butt on the platform so far, and it will be interesting to see how they do as this month goes by.
