How to Promote Your Crowdfunding Campaign Effectively

Do you want to get more traffic, eyeballs, and attention to your crowdfunding campaign?

What about more backers? Does that sound good?

Over the years, I’ve seen many Kickstarter and Indiegogo campaigns “blow up” and rake in tons of funding.

I’ve also watched smaller projects raise $10,000 – $50,000 on the platform. Many of these creators are part of my forum, KickstarterForum.

I don’t have ALL of the answers for you as to how to get funding, but I do have MANY of them.

Today, I’d love to share with you a few different ways that you can effectively promote your crowdfunding campaign.

After watching this video, you’ll walk away with several practical strategies for getting traffic, backers, and funding for your fundraiser!

You can watch the video below

Thus far, how have you gone about promoting your Kickstarter or Indiegogo campaign?

Some of the ways are obvious and over utilized. Quite frankly, they are horrible marketing practices.

I’m talking about “spamming” your link all over the internet. It just doesn’t work.

But, I don’t fault you in any way. You’re just doing what you think COULD work.

After watching this video, you’ll have many techniques that you can use to help supplement these marketing attempts.

Once you start implementing them, you will begin to see some success!

You’ll also come to quickly realize how much time and energy it takes to get the word out about your crowdfunding campaign.

Crowdfunding Promotion Services…

If you don’t want to do the marketing yourself, you can seek out marketing agencies and promotional firms that will help you get the word out.

Be warned… some of these are a little bit scammy. You have to be careful.

Some of these companies were set up yesterday (literally) and others have been around for a while. I’ve had a few of them on my podcast, Crowdfunding Demystified.

I’m going to link you up with a list of verified companies that you can reference. These guys are some of the firms that have stood out to me over the years.

I’ll also give you a short list below that you can check out:

A lot of newcomers to the space don’t realize that you need a marketing and advertising budget for your crowdfunding campaign.

It sucks, but with so much competition now a days, a spending money on advertising really helps you stand out!

At the same time, I work very hard to provide educational resources so that ANYONE can do this all themselves.

If you are wiling to educate yourself and you have the time to act on the information, you can do Facebook advertising, email marketing, and PR outreach YOURSELF.

If Your Campaign is Failing…

A lot of entrepreneurs and creative types will begin to think about promotion once their campaign is FAILING.

Before that point, marketing wasn’t a problem. Now, it’s a glaring problem!

They have to quickly get the word out. Otherwise, their project is going to fail to successfully raise funds.

You can think of marketing as a seesaw scale. You either need TIME or MONEY to generate traffic. When you have a lot of time, you can do things like build up your social following, generate an email list, and work with influencers.

At this point, you don’t have a lot of time, so money has to replace it in the equation. You’re going need to spend money to get attention on the project.

Now… this is where you can make a fatal mistake.

If you haven’t verified that people actually LIKE your product, you could wind up spending tons of money to get traffic to the campaign. People will come, visit it, and then click away.

Until you’ve gotten backers from strangers, you really haven’t established that like your product.

Your campaign can be failing for three reasons:

  1. There isn’t enough traffic.
  2. The page doesn’t convert well (messaging, marketing, or pricing is off)
  3. Your product doesn’t have demand

If it’s #2 or #3, you’re going to have to fix that before you spend significant amounts on marketing.

Remember, you can always spend a little bit and measure the results before you go “all in.”

I can walk you through this…

Don’t panic!
