Last week USA Great Buys launched their new AER Infinity product on the popular crowdfunding website, Kickstarter. The AER Infinity is a three-in-one device, functioning as a stylus to simplify input on your smartphone, a phone holder and stand, which makes it easier to do video calls or watch movies, and finally, the device has built-in flash drive storage capacity. Chitanshu Vora and Saachin Doshi are the brains behind this project. As a registered pharmacist with a Masters Degree in Pharmaceutical Marketing from St. Johns University, Vora has a strong analytical background and has been planning this product’s launch since early 2012.
When asked about the inspiration behind the project, Vora responded, “When I saw my kids struggling to hold their iPhone to watch ‘Yo Gabba Gabba’, I knew there was a real need for something like this,” adding, “Wouldn’t it be great to have a small, sleek, and affordable phone holder without having to spend an average of $20 for a tripod stand with no additional features?”
Aside from serving as a sleek phone holder, the AER Infinity solves another growing problem among smartphone holders. When Saachin Doshi, the co-creator of the AER Infinity, heard his children complain about having to use swipe gestures on their tablet device in order to play games, he quickly went about designing a compact and minimalistic stylus that would allow smartphone users to easily interact with their phone. This soft tip capacitive stylus was soon added to Vora’s vision of a compact phone holder that has a sleek design and angled support for easy video calling.
Not only does this stylus allow for greater learning interactivity for children, but it also has a wider appeal for working professionals. Misspelled text messages are becoming more and more of a cultural phenomena, with entire websites dedicated to hilarious, yet embarrassing text message mistakes. The ultra-sensitive AER stylus ensures you will not make mistakes while typing and allows you to draw and play games on your device with minimal resistance. In addition, the stylus will not scratch your smartphone screen, as other products on the market do.
At this point and time, with a $20 price tag, the design for the AER Infinity was a competitive product at a bargain price. However, it wasn’t until the team began speaking with their manufacturer that the product transformed into the three-in-one device that you now see on Kickstarter.
“It is Saachin’s relationship with Mr. Elin Kim, our manufacturing partner, which brought life to our project,” said Vora. “When he suggested adding a waterproof USB flash drive, I knew this was the missing feature. Mr. Kim has great experience manufacturing USBs for US corporations.”
Vora went on to say, “Ironically, from what I’ve learned from friends and customers, the USB storage capacity ‘makes’ the product and is frequently cited as their favorite feature.”
No doubt, professionals today are demanding access to their files, photos, and digital information at any time and in any place – whether on their phone or computer. The AER Infinity flash drive, which stores up to 64 GB of data, remedies this issue and helps prevent data loss from water damage.
Having been on Kickstarter for only 5 days, the AER infinity has raised almost $1,000 from 38 backers. From pharmacist to inventor and technology innovator, Chitanshu Vora has spearheaded the project’s fundraising efforts.
When asked what drives him, Vora said, “Since the age of 8, I have seen my father work hard and build a water-filter candle factory from nothing. Today he has operations ranging in 3 states and over 100 people working in his state of the art factory. I came to this country with that spirit of entrepreneurship burning in my heart and yearning to do something big with my own ideas.”
