I always love getting emails from readers and listeners who say that CrowdCrux was a big help as they’ve been preparing for their Kickstarter launch.
Recently, I got an email from Ben, the cofounder of the Koala Hoodie. He said, “I hope you’re very well and your September has got off to a great start! My name is Ben and I’ve been listening to your podcast for around a year now and I wanted to really thank you for putting so much useful information out there for crowdfunders – you’ve helped me out a lot!”
I dug a bit deeper and learned that he recently smashed his Kickstarter goal, having raised over $20,000 in about seven days.
That’s great success!
At the time of writing, he’s doubled that amount. It looks like he’s going to raise even more.
When I probed, he revealed that a huge amount of his success is do to successful Instagram marketing.
In short, he got influencers to post about or wear his product, resulting in followers, attention, and sales.
I had to have him on the podcast to talk about this strategy.
He laid out the step-by-step approach that he took towards Instagram marketing, as well as how he got on so many media publications.
Now, he’s exploring Facebook marketing, in-game advertising, and more. As I said on the podcast, I think he’s going to raise a lot more before the end of his campaign.
