Starting a new ecommerce business can be a very time consuming task. For inexperienced shop owners, it also means learning a lot of new skills.
Podcasts are a great way for you to do some of this learning on the go! You can listen to podcasts while commuting, doing the laundry, or working out. There are dozens of ecommerce centered podcasts out there, many that interview ecommerce experts and are even hosted by ecommerce store owners.
To save you a little time, I’ve come up with a list of a few highly recommended ecommerce podcasts for new business owners:
1. eCommerce Fuel
This podcast is hosted by Andrew Youderian, who interviews top ecommerce experts to provide straightforward and practical advice for building and scaling an ecommerce store.
The main eCommerce Fuel website is home to a private community of 6 and 7 figure store owners, but their podcast has a wide variety of useful topics, like Starting a New Store, Shopping Carts, SEO and Marketing, and more.
2. My Wife Quit Her Job
This podcast was started by husband and wife team, Steve and Jennifer Chou. In the podcast they speak about their experience launching their small business, BumblebeeLinens.com. They also interview other entrepreneurs to learn from their experiences.
As Chou says, “All of the entrepreneurs on my show bootstrapped their businesses and started their own ventures to improve their lifestyle in some way.” Some of their recent episodes talk about how to use psychology to increase sales and how to design a high converting website.
3. EcommercePulse
If you’re relatively new to ecommerce, EcommercePulse is a simple and practical podcast to follow.
Leighton Taylor interviews expert guests for easy to follow advice, and covers topics that include: finding a niche, building traffic, conversion optimization, copy writing, and more.
Taylor runs this podcast through his website, Envision, where he helps his clients raise more money on their Shopify stores.
4. Shopify Masters
Shopify Masters is hosted by Felix Thea and he interviews successful ecommerce entrepreneurs on how they achieved their success and lessons they learned.
The podcast covers how to come up with product ideas, popular tools and apps that you can use to boost your sales, and how to go about marketing your online store.
Of course, since this podcast is put out by Shopify, it’s biased in terms of what platform they want you to use, but it also has some good content.
5. Etsy Conversations Podcast
This podcast features Etsy shop owners who share tips, advice, and stories. Ijeoma, a calligraphy and budding typography artist, hosts the podcast on iTunes.
This show will teach you as a new store owner to get traffic, sales, and market your Etsy store. It also has a lot of valuable information for ecommerce store owners in general.
In case you’re wondering, no, the podcast is not affiliated with Etsy.
6. Crowdfunding Demystified (CrowdCrux’s Podcast)
The CrowdCrux Podcast is hosted by Salvador Briggman, who covers everything from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, to ecommerce. The podcast is great for entrepreneurs looking into different funding options.
If you’re new to ecommerce and marketing this podcast can help you learn the ins and outs, with episodes on how to create and launch a physical product in 2016, PR mistakes to avoid, and more.
I recommend starting with episode #79 on how to come up with a product idea.
7. Build My Online Store
Build My Online Store is a weekly podcast hosted by Terry Lin and co-hosted by Travis Marziani, who both own ecommerce shops.
Terry launched a successful store selling men’s leather wallets and Travis sells dance clothing online.
The two cover topics like how to build a shopping cart, gives a checklist for setting up an online store, and more.
With over 150 episodes, we think this is a great podcast to check out if you’re interested in building your online store!

The duo focuses on ways that you can turn more of your shop’s views into sales, how to write better copy, how to deal with cart abandonment, and more.
This podcast, along with the others mentioned in this list, is a grew starting point if you’re new to ecommerce and online marketing.
