5. Alternative Methods

There are a few other alternative ways that you can stay up to date with news in the crowdfunding industry. I’ve made a list of them below:

– Set a google alert for crowdfunding terms.

– Check out the news section of CrowdfundingForum or KickstarterForum (companion websites).

– Twitter: @crowdfundnews or use twitter advanced search to find real-time news.

– Reddit’s crowdfunding and Kickstarter subreddits.

Flipboard: I use the Flipboard app to stay up to date with news in general and crowdfunding-related news. You can create a category and have it pick up tweets about crowdfunding or news posts.

Feedly: I also use Feedly to keep up on announcements in a variety of industries. Using their advanced search functionality, you keep up with articles on the topic or use their pro features to explore the maximum number of results.

Alltop: Alltop is an older website that essentially aggregates RSS feeds. The crowdfunding section will give you a quick overview of news that’s happening in the sector.

Mention: Finally, if you’re willing to dish out a little cash, mention is a good enhancement to google alerts. As the name describes, it will track mentions of keywords across a variety of social channels and can send you alerts.
