Investment crowdfunding might seem complicated. It’s the new kid on the block.

I’m going to break it down for you in a no-nonsense fashion.

What is investment crowdfunding?

I talked a bit about equity crowdfunding before. Basically, think of it as Kickstarter for equity.

Let’s say you’re raising money for a new business online using crowdfunding. Instead of asking for pledges, offering pre-orders, or attracting backers, you’re giving away a share of your company.

The people backing your project are actually investing in your company. They get a percentage ownership of what you’re doing.

In exchange, they may get returns when you sell the company or do an IPO. They might give early feedback on products. They may even get to pre-order a product.

Basically, the key difference is that these supporters are investors.

What about the regulations?

This is what hangs up most entrepreneurs from venturing into investment crowdfunding.

It’s one of the reasons why I felt compelled to write the book, Equity Crowdfunding Explained, which goes in-depth into all the regulations around this business.

Think of this book as a handbook that you can reference as you go through the process of raising money OR investing in equity crowdfunding deals.

I’ll show you step-by-step what you need to do to launch a campaign. You’ll also get tips on investing in these projects.

Along with marketing strategy, you’ll have all the rules surrounding the Jobs Act debunked. You’ll know exactly which rules apply to your circumstance.

Finally, the book will share with you some of the key websites and resources in this industry that may help to accelerate your project.

You can grab a copy on Audible (free with 30 day free trial).
